About Supporting Trades
Built by someone who's done the work — and watched the office eat good tradespeople alive.
Founder · Vermont
Chris started out swinging a hammer and running a mower — carpentry and landscaping through college in 2007 — and has spent more than fifteen years since as a carpenter, landscaper and property manager.
A lot of his friends and family work in the trades: electricians, plumbers, foresters, tree crews, landscapers, home-service shops. He's watched the same thing happen to all of them. They're great at the work, and the office eats them alive — missed calls, quotes written at 10pm, invoices nobody chases.
Alongside the tools, he's spent years in operations and technology. Supporting Trades puts the two together: a small team that handles the calls, quotes and invoices for shops that can't justify a full-time hire but can't keep losing jobs to voicemail.
We started in 2026. You'd be one of our first shops — which means launch pricing and the owner on the other end of the phone.

The trades we know
We specialize in these, and each gets its own playbook: what's urgent, what to ask, what not to promise. Run a different kind of service business? Talk to us.
Questions owners ask
Is it a person or a bot?
A person, always. When we answer your phone, a real person picks up — never a robot voice. On Catch, missed callers get a text back and a person reads the replies. We use tools behind the scenes to draft quotes and keep records, but never to talk to your customers.
What can you promise a customer?
Only what's in your playbook: time windows, prices, what counts as an emergency. Anything else gets "let me check with the owner," and you get a text.
Do I have to change my number or my system?
No. We forward your existing number, and we work in the software you already use. No system at all? We'll get you set up.
Who gets access to my software?
Only the people working on your account, through a limited login you create. We can add jobs, notes and follow-ups; we can't change your prices, delete customers or touch your bank. You see every change, and you can switch us off any time.
Are calls really recorded?
Every one, and every caller hears a notice at the start. Recordings are yours to listen to.
Stay on the job. We'll handle the office.
Call or text and a person picks up. Or tell us about your shop and we'll call you back.
